Another wonderful report. Did anyone spot the Science lesson? The observant Kaara noticed that the Kauri tree is a home for many other living things including manu (birds), insects and ferns.
The girls were predicting how old this Kauri could be. If this tree was 1000 years old and had eyes, I wonder what it would it have seen?
The girls were right about the Kauri Dieback Disease that is affecting Kauri in Waitakere. This disease can be carried on our shoes and if it gets on the roots can cause the Kauri to die? I wonder what we can do to prevent this?
