Make failure your friend.

Failure is such a necessary ingredients for success (whatever this term means to you). I am off to see that oh so famous failure – Oprah, who will be visiting Auckland this December.

As Edison once said, when someone asked him how he felt about having failed a thousand times at his light bulb invention. He response was that the light bulb took a thousand steps in the making.

So next time, when a child runs up to you bemoaning, that they have failed at something, or you have asked them to complete a task which they have not managed to do, reframe the response you give them. It will make so much difference, inspiring them to ‘truck on’.

As for Sesame Street, they have just nailed it for their younger viewers.
